Same-day and emergency movers in Olympia, with a straight answer on the first call.

For same-day, emergency or last-minute movers in Olympia, call (360) 339-3129: if the truck is free, we can move you today. You'll know before you hang up, either yes and a time, or no and the earliest real slot. Caravan Moving LLC runs one 24-foot lift-gate truck from Rochester, and even on a rush job the written estimate is done with you on-site before work begins.

How it works on short notice

What same-day means with one truck.

The calendar decides whether a same-day move can happen. The paperwork and the pricing rules are the same ones that apply to a move booked a month out.

One truck, one calendar

We own one 24-foot box truck with a hydraulic lift gate, and it can't be in two places. If it's already booked this afternoon, we'll say so and give you the next open slot.

An answer on the first call

The owner answers the phone. Tell us what's moving, from where, to where and by when, and the calendar gets checked while you're still on the line.

The paperwork still applies

Washington's estimate rules apply on a same-day move too. The crew walks through with you and writes the estimate on-site before anything is lifted. It takes minutes and it protects both of us.

Priced by the same rules

A move of 55 miles or less, measured from pickup to delivery and not from our base, is priced by the hour under Washington Tariff 15-C, within the minimum and maximum rates the Utilities and Transportation Commission sets. Olympia to Tacoma is about 30 miles, so it stays hourly. Olympia to Seattle is about 60 miles and usually lands just past that line, where weight and distance take over, depending on the exact addresses. How pricing works explains the rest.

Short notice

Last-minute movers for a move that can't wait

A lease ends sooner than expected, a closing date moves, you're buying and need to move in the day escrow closes, or the friends who promised to help stop answering. If the truck is free, those are moves we can take today or tomorrow.

Olympia is about 20 miles from our base in Rochester. We take same-day moves in Tacoma and north of it too, and the drive up I-5 is part of what sets the earliest start time we can give you.

  • Apartment and house moves in Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater
  • Same-day moves to and from Tacoma and the towns north of it
  • Closing-day and listing-deadline moves for buyers, sellers and realtors
  • Loading and unloading only when you already have the rental truck or container
  • Unit turns on a deadline, handled as a separate cleanout service with the price agreed in writing before anything is loaded
  • Refrigerators, washers and gun safes raised level on the lift gate
  • Evenings and weekends: ask when you book

From the call to the truck

How a same-day move runs.

  1. You call and describe the move

What's moving, from where to where, by when, how much is already boxed, and where a 24-foot truck can park at each end. Mention stairs, elevators and anything heavy, like a gun safe or a treadmill, because they change the crew and the hours.

  2. You get a time or a date

If the truck is free, you get a start time. If it isn't, you get the earliest date it is, so you can book it or keep looking.

  3. Written estimate on-site

The crew walks through with you and writes the estimate before work begins, every time. Valuation options on the bill of lading are explained and you choose. If the job grows past the estimate, a supplemental estimate is written and signed first.

  4. The move and the close-out

The people who load are the people who unload. You walk the rooms and the truck with us before we close out, and pay by cash, card or check.

Short-notice questions

What people ask about same-day and last-minute moves.

Can I get movers in Olympia today?

Possibly, and you'll know on this call rather than after a callback. It depends on whether the truck is already booked, so ring (360) 339-3129 instead of filling in the form: you'll get yes and a time, or no and the earliest real slot.

How last-minute can I book movers in Olympia?

A call on the morning of the move can be enough if the truck is free, and you'll know on that call. When it is already out, the next opening is usually inside the same week, sooner in slower months. The 30th and the 1st go first because most leases turn over then, so those are the dates worth calling about early.

Do same-day or emergency movers cost more?

Not for booking late by itself: a move of 55 miles or less is priced by the hour under Tariff 15-C, within the minimum and maximum the Utilities and Transportation Commission sets, whether you called a month ago or this morning. What can change is the clock. If you ask for an evening, weekend or state-holiday move, the tariff allows a longer minimum charge and an overtime charge, and it allows overtime after eight straight hours of service. Neither may be charged when the off-hours slot exists only because our own day was already booked, and whatever does apply is written down and signed before that work starts.

Can you give me a price over the phone so I can decide quickly?

We can explain how the price is worked out, but a number over the phone isn't a legal estimate. Washington requires a visual inspection before a mover quotes, so on a same-day job the crew writes the estimate on-site before any work starts. How pricing works covers the rest.

Can someone load my rental truck today?

If the schedule allows, yes. With loading and unloading only, you drive, so tell us where the truck or container is parked and when it's due back and we'll fit the start time around it.

What if the new place isn't ready yet?

We have no warehouse, so your things go straight from one address to the next. If you need somewhere to put them for a while, a storage unit you rent can be the next address, and we load and unload those too.

Moving on short notice

Call and get a straight answer.

Tell us what's moving, from where, to where and by when, and you'll have an answer on that call. If the truck can roll today, the written estimate Washington requires is done with you on-site before anything is loaded. If it can't, you'll leave the call with the earliest date it can.
